Set Google Assistant Continued Conversation on Pixel 2

It is disappointing when I received my new Google Pixel 4XL and discovered that Google Assistant looked exactly like the old way and did not have continued conversation enabled, waving Pikachu was not there, and the recorder did not have search and transcribe features. GOOGLE, why did you show off these features during your launch events and decide to disable them on default on consumers' Pixel phones????
I bet a lot of you have encountered the same issues. I have experimented a lot with my phone and I am writing here to address your concerns and help you bring back the cool features of Pixel 4.
-- To enable the Google Assistant Continued Conversation, you should manually turn on this feature by talking to Google, "Hey Google, open assistant setting" and then --> Assistant Setting --> Continued conversation. Remember to change your language to English US and set the region to US.
Then you should check if you have a school or work email logged on. That was my issue. When I set up the phone, I added my school email and my Microsoft outlook to my phone. And then even if I had switched on the Continued assistant, nothing happened. So the thing is that even if you are using your primary account on your phone to wake up Google assistant, if you have other accounts attached to your phone (school or work or non-English or non-google), then the continuous conversation cannot be activated.Simply log out all the school/work/nonEnglish/ nonGoogle accounts.
Other than that, you should also check your accessibility, according to Google's Tips Page, you have to turn off accessibilities such as read-aloud your screen and talk back.
You should also make sure to use the new gesture navigation instead of the traditional three-keys navigation of Android.
Let me know if the above steps can solve your issue.
You should now be able to use the Google Assistant Continued Conversation. It is pretty fast and responsive.
But,
Once you have switched on the continued conversation successfully, you will probably discover that there is a terrible downside. The Google assistant will not talk back to you using her voice like before.??? It will listen and execute things, but it no longer talks! I was suspicious that this is a bug, but I then checked Google's launch event, HEY! In the demo, Google Assistant didn't speak out a word either. Why a silent assistant?
I experimented a lot and found a way to fix it.
I discovered how I can make Google Assistant talk to me with a voice even if the continued conversation is on. Open the assistant settings again, and change the speech output to from brief to full. You will be able to unleash the full power of Google assistant.
At the end of the day, I am a little disappointed that Google didn't show its users any tips on how to enable their new features. And I don't understand why the preset is the old traditional Google Assistant.
Oh, what is more, the Pokemon Wave Hello is not preinstalled. I was looking for that feature crazily and didn't even find it in the play store. I was later told by the support that I had to update the Soli Motion Sense Bridge in Google Play Store first. And then the app showed in my store search results. I was able to install it and it was pretty fun.
The other broken thing is that the pre-installed recorder did have neither the search function nor the live transcribe. I was a little furious when I saw the app. But then the Play store installed some speech recognition update and the recorder worked fine. So don't panic when you see the feature is missing. Please check if there are any available updates.
I am a data scientist and I still got confused by just turning on these new features that Google showed to us during the launch event. How can a regular non-technical user who probably update their system and apps only once every few months know about all these?
PLEASE ENDORSE MY ANSWER IF YOU FOUND IT USEFUL. I WOULD LIKE GOOGLE TO SEE HOW THEY SHOULD MAKE IMPROVEMENTS ON THE USER EXPERIENCES!!!!!
